The difference between Unicare Complex and other services offering SEN tuition is that all tutors are qualified teachers with additional qualifications and experience in SEN. Each tutor has extensive experience working with children and young people with diverse needs, allowing them to effectively support and engage every learner in each session.

How it works

Parents and carers can reach out to Unicare Complex by completing our inquiry form or booking an online consultation. During the call, we gather information about your specific needs or challenges. We’ll then provide several tutor profiles for your consideration, along with our contract and privacy notices for review.

Once you select a tutor, we’ll introduce you via email. They will schedule a call and arrange a paid trial session. After the trial, you will receive an invoice.

Following the trial session, I will follow up by phone or email to gather your feedback. There’s no obligation to continue, but if you choose to, sessions can be booked in blocks of four, invoiced monthly.

We'll discuss your child's education, challenges, and EHCP status, and explore options like after-school support, homeschooling, or interim care.

Our Review

Once we have your details, Unicare Complex will provide a list of specialists suited to your child, along with our contract and privacy notices.

Our Selection

Once you've selected a specialist, Unicare Complex will introduce you via email to arrange a trial session (in-person or online) at the specialist's hourly rate.

Parent Feedback

After the trial, we’ll follow up. If you’re satisfied, you'll be invoiced for the next three sessions and billed every four-session block.

Ongoing Support

We’re always here if you need assistance or extra support. We also schedule regular check-ins with you and the tutor to ensure everything is going smoothly.

Fees & Payments

The hourly rate for tutors at Unicare Complex varies based on their expertise, which you can view on the Find a Tutor page. I recommend starting with a paid trial to ensure a good rapport between your child and the tutor. After the trial, we work in blocks of four sessions, and I will invoice you for the remaining three in the block, as well as for each subsequent block of four.

Who we are

You need tutors and consultants with expertise in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to support your child. Unicare Complex can provide these self-employed professionals, who operate their own tutoring businesses.

Unicare Complex handles payment from you, our client, while we maintain separate arrangements for compensating the tutors.

As a result, Unicare Complex does not provide tutoring services directly; instead, we function as an employment business that connects you with qualified tutors.

FAQ’s

Do you offer a free trial session?

No, we offer a trial session at the tutor’s usual rate. Since many of our tutors work face-to-face, this provides an opportunity for the tutor and student to spend a full session together, ensuring a good rapport.

How many sessions do I need to book in advance?

We work in blocks of four sessions, and you’ll need to coordinate with your tutor to schedule them.

It depends on your needs. Unicare Complex offers homeschooling, after-school sessions, weekend support, ad-hoc tutoring, assistance while waiting for a school placement, and one-to-one support in schools. We can create a tailored package that suits your requirements.

Can I cancel at any time?

Each client is sent a contract and can decide the length of the notice period. The notice period must be completed before tuition stops.

My child no longer attends school. Can you still help?

Yes, we work with many families whose children are out of school.

How many tutors can I speak to before making a choice?

You are welcome to try as many tutors as you like, but after a thorough consultation, we typically find that the matches we provide are usually all you need to make a decision.

Is tutoring online or in person?

All sessions are conducted face-to-face unless you prefer online tutoring.

What happens if my child doesn’t like the tutor and we’ve already done a trial session with them?

Please get in touch and let me know. It’s important that your child feels safe, happy, and secure during their sessions. We can offer a new option from your original list if needed.
